How the G-RANK Trade Calculator Works

The G-RANK fantasy football trade calculator values every player by their rest-of-season G-RANK: our projection of what each player is worth from this week through the end of the fantasy season. Values factor in projected scoring, remaining bye weeks, and expected health, and they update every time the G-RANK rankings do. Use the scoring toggle at the top of the page to switch between PPR, Half-PPR, and Standard values.

Roster spot value

When one side of a trade receives more players than the other, the side getting fewer players is credited for the roster spot it frees up. That spot is valued like a replacement-level player, roughly the 132nd-best player, which is about where rosters bottom out in a typical 12-man league. That way, two decent players don't automatically beat one great one just because there are more of them.

Best player premium

In any trade larger than a 1-for-1, the side receiving the best player in the deal gets a premium equal to half the gap between the two sides' best players. Elite players are the hardest assets to replace, so turning two good players into one great one should cost something extra.

Reading the verdict

After those adjustments, the calculator compares both sides' totals. Within 5% of each other is a Fair Trade. A gap of 5–15% slightly favors one side, 15–25% favors it, and anything beyond 25% vastly favors it.

Trade Suggestions

Not sure what to ask for? Switch to the Trade Suggestions tab, enter the player you want to trade away, and pick the positions you want back. The calculator finds packages that come out fair using the same math, leaves out players who are injured this week, and lets you open any suggestion in the calculator for the full breakdown. Looking for players to go after in the first place? See this week's Trade Targets: Buy Low, Sell High.

Trade Calculator FAQ

What makes a fantasy football trade fair?

In G-RANK's calculator, a trade is fair when both sides land within 5% of each other after the roster spot and best player adjustments. Fair value isn't the whole story, though: your team's positional needs, upcoming bye weeks, and your league's settings can make a fair trade a smart one for you or a poor fit.

Does the trade calculator work for PPR leagues?

Yes. It has separate values for PPR, Half-PPR, and Standard scoring, and players' values shift with the format, so set the scoring toggle to match your league before evaluating a trade.

Can I evaluate 2-for-1 or 3-for-2 trades?

Yes. Each side can include up to 10 players. Uneven trades are where the roster spot value and best player premium matter most, since they account for the extra roster spot and the cost of consolidating talent.

How often are trade values updated?

Trade values come directly from the G-RANK rest-of-season rankings, so they update every time the rankings are updated during the season.

Does it work for dynasty leagues?

No. The calculator is built for redraft leagues. It values players for the rest of the 2026 season only and doesn't account for future seasons or draft picks.

Is the trade calculator free?

Yes. It's completely free, with no account or sign-up required.

Trade Targets: Buy Low / Sell High

This week's buy-low (Trade For) and sell-high (Trade Away) fantasy football trade targets, updated every week. Calculated based on YTD performance vs. G-RANK rest-of-season projection. Only players inside the G-RANK rest-of-season top 100 are included, and players with a recent, current, or expected injury are left off this list to eliminate nuance.

Points allowed are in the scoring format selected at the top of the page. Ranks on upcoming weeks run from 1st (fewest points allowed, toughest) to 32nd (most allowed, easiest) among all 32 defenses. Rest of Season sorts by the average opponent rank from this week on, skipping byes.
